Building in the County

Prior to construction, reconstruction, alteration,or change of use of a structure or lot, a zoning and/or building permit must be obtained. Certain structures/uses are exempt from the zoning permit. Contact the Public Works Department to find out if you are exempt, and to insure you obtain the proper permit application for your situation.

Permit Applications and Information for Building in the CountyThese permit applications are available online for your convenience, but may not contain all of the information necessary to complete an application. You are advised to contact the County Public Works Department before filing.

NOTICE: Some of these permit applications are legal size and must be printed that size to avoid omitting information. If any part of the pre-printed text of a permit application is modified, deleted or added to, the form is no longer valid to be submitted.

If you begin construction without a permit, an additional inspection fee will be assessed.

For clarification on any of the above mentioned policies and regulations, we advise that you contact the County Public Works Department for additional information.
